Dr. Joel Shulman is the founder and managing director of EntrepreneurShares. His 20+ years of academic research led to the formation of our proprietary 15-factor investment model. Dr. Shulman is a leading academic in the field of Entrepreneurship at Babson College (ranked #1 for Entrepreneurship 18 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report.) Dr. Shulman holds a Ph.D in Finance and is a CFA charter holder. He also earned an MPA from the JFK School of Government at Harvard University. He founded and sold The Shulman Review, a CFA test-prep company that trained over 12,000+ investment professionals in 110+ countries around the world. In addition, he provided consulting services to the World Bank and helped facilitate capital market development in Central Asian states. Dr. Shulman is author of 2004 best business book Getting Bigger by Growing Smaller and contributes regularly to a Forbes column on investing.
David R. Cragg — CFO & CCO
David Cragg serves as the CFO & CCO of EntrepreneurShares, LLC. Prior to EntrepreneurShares, David served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Leuthold Weeden, a Minneapolis-based investment management firm with $5.2 billion AUM. In addition to his roles as COO and CCO, David assisted portfolio managers in the day to day management of accounts. Prior to joining Leuthold Weeden Capital Management, David held a variety of positions within Piper Trust Company from 1993 to January 1999, most recently as Operations Manager. David graduated in 1991 from Westmont College with a BA in Economics.
Alice J. Thompson — COO
Alice Thompson oversees operations, marketing, and sales efforts at EntrepreneurShares. She spearheads the Entrepreneurial spirit of our organization while playing an active role in business development and relationship management. Alice possesses strong communication and organizational skills and has valuable experience running family businesses. She earned her BS in Entrepreneurship from Babson College and attended ESADE business school in Barcelona, Spain.
Jared I. Shulman — Assistant Portfolio Manager
Jared Shulman is assistant portfolio manager at EntrepreneurShares. He assists Dr. Shulman with portfolio construction and plays a key role in the ongoing monitoring of securities. Jared has been exposed to the world of entrepreneurial investing since day one and has always looked forward to joining the family business. Jared earned his BS in Entrepreneurship from Babson College and is currently a CFA level III candidate.
George R. Berbeco — Director
Mr. Berbeco is the President of The Devon Group, Inc., a commodity trading advisor, and was General Partner of Devon Capital Partners, LP. He has founded several technical companies, including Charleswater Products, Xytest, Syon, Adhesivesmart.com, and successfully exited by sale to Armstrong World Industries and ITW, as well as private funds. Mr. Berbeco is the author of over twenty publications in technical journals relating to electronics, ESD control, adhesives, and industrial applications of ionizing radiation. He has made over fifty presentations, and is the author of fifteen U.S. and foreign patents. Mr. Berbeco is Chairman of Bay Colony Development Corporation, one the largest SBA 504 lenders in the country. In addition, he is a Trustee of Olin College, and a member of the Investment committee. He was an Overseer of WGBH Public Television, and on the board of the New Rep Theatre. His past affiliations have included chairman of the NE Chapter of the MS Society, International Board of Governors-Technion, Haifa, Israel. Mr. Berbeco is a graduate of M.I.T, M.S. and B.S. Chemical Engineering, National Merit Scholar, Sigma Xi Honorary. He is registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor, and Commodity Pool Operator.
Stephen A. Sohn, MD — Director
Dr. Sohn holds an A.B. from Harvard College, an MD from Duke University, and an MBA (Summa Cum Laude) from Babson College. He has been a faculty member of the Harvard Medical School, written two medical textbooks, and has had multiple research interests including cardiovascular surgery (heart bypass and cardiac assist devices) reconstructive surgery (cartilage regeneration and joint reconstruction) and drug development (wound healing and snoring). He founded the first ambulatory surgery center in Massachusetts, started a consolidation of dental practices in New England, and built a high-end nationwide group of aesthetic medical practices that he sold to Sprout capital. He has advised equity research companies and Wall Street Investment firms, and has volunteered his medical services in Africa and Pakistan/Afghanistan.
Craig Benson — Advisor
Craig Benson served as governor of the State of New Hampshire from 2002 to 2005. As a founder of Collingsworth Company, Mr. Benson is currently reviewing strategic investments and potential turnaround targets. Mr. Benson co-founded Cabletron Systems in 1983 and served as president and CEO, growing annual revenue to $1.6 billion. He was inducted into the Babson College Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs in 1995 and formerly served on the ITSD Advisory Board. He has launched the “NH Advantage Foundation,” a charitable organization with a mission to develop and promote free enterprise-based programs that enhance the business and educational climates of New Hampshire.
Leonard Green — Advisor
Leonard C. Green is a CPA, MBA and Entrepreneur. He is CEO of the Green Group which is a provider of Tax, Accounting and Consulting Services. Len is also involved in 14 businesses in diverse markets including finance, real estate, thoroughbred horses, sports, a pet food company, a NYSE printing business and three charities. Len is also a member of the Board of Directors of a number of companies and foundations.
Siamak Taghaddos — Advisor
Siamak Taghaddos is the co-founder and CEO of Grasshopper Group, a technology incubator with multiple products that have empowered over 100,000 entrepreneurs to start and grow their small businesses. A lifelong student of marketing, Siamak is one of the youngest CEOs to be named to Inc. Magazine’s list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in America, is the founding supporter of National Entrepreneurs’ Day, and has been featured in various publications including the Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, CNN, FOX News, and other media.
Bradley George — Advisor
Bradley George is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Babson College. He has a BS and MEng from the University of Louisville, an MBA from the University of Northern Iowa and a PhD in Entrepreneurship from Indiana University. Prior to joining Babson he spent 15 years in the diesel engine industry in a variety of positions worldwide including leading market analysis and development for advanced engine programs at John Deere. He advises and consults a number of startups with particular emphasis on early stage concept development and market analysis.
